Another dry day for most, though the odd shower in the south-coast. Staying cloudy, though brighter in the north and west. Staying cold, especially where fog lingers.

Rain clearing from southeast England and strong winds easing across northern Scotland, to leave plenty of dry and bright weather but breezy for a time. Turning wet and windy from the west and northwest from late morning into the afternoon. Mild for December.

Rain clearing away to the east and southeast this evening, leaving clear skies for many overnight. Some showers in the north and northwest, wintry for Scottish Highlands. A patchy frost developing as temperatures fall - cold by dawn.

A cold, clear and crisp start this Friday. Plenty of wintry sunshine. Clouding over and turning wet and increasingly windy from the west later.

Wet and very windy for many on Saturday, with severe gales and damaging gusts possible in places - strongest in the west. Calmer through during Sunday and Monday, with winds easing and temperaures dropping.
